The work of Claes Oldenburg, Annette Messager and Erwin Wurm provokes intrigue with sculpture and its possibilities.These are a response to personal difficulties that revolved around love and relationship. I wanted to express despair and self-confession of difficult times with optimism and a simplicity similar to songwriting/poetry. At the time I was listening to the lyrics of Neil Young, Ryan Adams and Chet Baker and was influenced by their simple, poignant poetry fuelled by experiences in love .

I also wanted to return to the innocence and bright hope of childhood- hence they would be ultimately comforters.
